Now in its twelfth year, the annual Transmission Summit has established itself as the premier gathering for the leaders in the transmission industry. At this year’s Summit, senior transmission executives will gather and address the strategic, regulatory, investment, and technology issues facing the industry and explore strategies for maximizing the true value of their business.

Transmission Summit 2010 will follow the highly successful format of years past, with two distinct events featured on the three-day program:

The Transmission Executive Forum: Impact of Energy Policy and Initiatives, March 3, 2010, will provide an unparalleled platform for leading transmission executives and regulators to explore how today’s energy and regulatory policy issues—including the status of pending legislation, efforts to expand the geographic scope of planning, cost allocation for upgrades, the market redesigns required by smart grid and demand response initiatives, and the impact of stricter NERC compliance standards—are likely to affect the development and operation of the transmission system of tomorrow.

At Transmission Summit 2010: Thriving within the Changing Face of Transmission, March 4-5, 2010, the industry’s key leaders will provide a detailed analysis of how they are responding to shifts in today’s transmission environment, including the addition of renewable energy and the introduction of smart grid technologies, as well as how they are incorporating intermittent generation assets, demand response programs and energy storage into system planning and operations. Most importantly, it will provide a window on the changing face of transmission development including a review and discussion of the business models, the financing strategies, and the practical lessons being learned in siting, permitting, project and construction management.
