For the first time, the 2010 Biodefense Vaccines & Therapeutics conference will inaugurate the Animal Model Forum, June 15, 2010, supported by the Alliance for Biosecurity and the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine. The Forum will identify many of the key challenges facing the CBRN community as it works to develop animal models to test the efficacy of medical countermeasures for dangerous infectious biological pathogens and radiological/nuclear threats. Leading researchers from the biological and radiological/nuclear community will be on hand to explore strategies for dealing with challenges such as funding, technical development, and regulatory hurdles.
