SERVICE COMMISSION

Bakken Shale Formation in the Williston Basin has become today’s epic petroleum play due to its enormous oil resources. Unfortunately, all that oil loses value if producers can’t get it to market. Access to new infrastructure is critical to the success of the Bakken shale play. The lack of pipelines, rail facilities and specially developed road and highway systems, in addition to refining constraints, all create obstacles to process and transport the oil to markets.

Unfortunately, no single market player can unilaterally overcome these challenges. Only exploration and production firms, oil and gas pipeline developers, railway and trucking companies, as well as government, working as a team will be able to build the infrastructure to transport the increased production out of the Williston Basin.

As a result, Infocast is holding the Bakken Infrastructure Development Summit – the first meeting of its kind. The summit will bring together pipeline companies, rail & trucking firms, E&P companies, equity investors, commercial lenders, investment bankers, government officials, environmental & permitting experts and others, to get the information and establish the relationships necessary to overcome the hurdles to increasing the limited transportation capacity of today’s Bakken region. Participants will be briefed on current and planned infrastructure projects, understand how to posture themselves to take advantage of existing opportunities, develop insight into the requirement for sourcing debt and equity capital availability and be able to take advantage of this unique networking forum to make the deals that will advance Bakken infrastructure development.
