About the Conference
Green buildings offer significant attractions. They have lower energy costs, their space leases for more money, and they sell more quickly and at higher valuations than ordinary buildings. McGraw Hill predicts that these advantages will result in green building activity rising to 10% of new development by 2010. Additional incentives to go green are also coming from municipal building standards and other governmental initiatives, which will likely become more important over time.
Many in the real estate finance and investment community, however, are finding it difficult to come to grips with the opportunities in the green building space. They are hobbled by anecdotal data, lack of precedents, perception of higher costs, and inadequate underwriting, valuation and risk management protocols. As a consequence, Infocast has organized this event to help overcome these barriers and facilitate the flow of debt and equity investment into this promising sector. Infocast’s Green Building Finance & Investment Forum will be the first ever event specifically designed to bring together all the players in the green building finance space, including leading institutional investors, lenders, developers, technology experts, building owners and managers, and risk managers to share experiences, best practices, new paradigms and successes as well as to confront the novel challenges of this rapidly emerging asset class.
In addition to profitable ideas and information, this remarkable event will also offer an ideal environment for relationship-building and deal-making. By helping to define the future direction of green building business methods and financing vehicles, participants will have a “first mover advantage” as the growth potential for green real estate is unlocked.
