 | Technical Briefing #1: Battery Breakthroughs December 1, 2009, 9:00am - 5:30pm The race is on to radically improve battery and capacitor performance for the emerging plug-in hybrid electric market. Announcements of major innovations are coming fast and furious. Industry heavyweights as well as start-ups, government and university labs are reporting major advancements on a weekly basis. This technical briefing will present a series of the most exciting and potentially impactful breakthroughs in energy storage electrochemistry, components and architectures. Researchers are attacking multiple dimensions of battery performance including energy density, power, deep cycle charging, battery lifetime, weight, safety, and, of course, cost. Each presentation in the briefing will concisely summarize the technical aspects of the innovation, what commercial challenge it solves, its estimated time to market and opportunities for licensing or partnering.

 | Technical Briefing #2: Hybrid/Electric Drive Train December 3, 1:00pm - 5:00pm Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles require new drive train components and architecture. While the traditional auto industry supply chain is well established, the shift to electric hybrid drives is disrupting traditional relationships and opening the industry to a variety of new players. This Technical Briefing will provide a unique platform for electric drive train technology developers and vendors to talk about their innovative products and understand the bigger picture into which their product fits, as all of the components must work together effectively to be useful to the automakers. The Briefing will also provide an opportunity for OEMs, automakers and investors to assess investment, licensing and acquisition opportunities, and provide an excellent opportunity to network with potential partners for building the new electric drive train architecture.
