Key government representatives provide comprehensive briefing on R&D and funding opportunities for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear detection technologies.

Don't Miss the Pre-Conference Symposium:

Emerging and Enabling Technologies for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Detection

Keynote Speaker:

Rita Colwell, Ph.D., Chairman, Canon US Life Sciences, Inc., Distinguished Professor, University of Maryland College Park and Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health

About the Conference

The need to protect the nation against the possible release of chemical and biological agents and the use of radiological and nuclear devices remains acute. The government is fully committed to supporting the development of advanced detection technologies and diagnostics equipment to safeguard both the civilian population and the armed forces. This commitment is supported by a healthy federal budget to fund development of next-generation environmental sensors, new classes of chem-bio and rad-nuc detectors, and diagnostics tools that can identify and analyze a wide array of bioterrorism agents and rad-nuc elements. Government departments and agencies supporting and funding this critical R&D are engaged in close collaboration and partnership with hundreds of private companies, research contractors and universities in developing cutting edge CBRN detection technologies and diagnostics tools. Where else can you learn how to participate in the government’s efforts to develop the next generation of detection and diagnostics systems that will provide future decision makers with the tools they need to effectively deal with a CBRN attack?

The 6th Annual Federal CBRN Detection R&D Opportunities event is designed to provide the most current, updated information about the role industry, research contractors and universities can play in addressing the nation’s needs for new chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear detection technologies and diagnostic tools. Again this year, the event will focus on the R&D requirements of each of the funding departments and agencies–with the goal of helping attendees make informed decisions about their opportunities to participate in this governmentsupported R&D. Representatives from the funding departments and agencies will provide answers to such questions as:

  • What are the government’s chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear detection and diagnostic technology R&D priorities?
  • What programs are being funded?
  • What are the opportunities for participation by universities and private companies?
  • What is the process for pursuing these opportunities?
  • What are the arrangements for working with the government?

Each presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, providing attendees ample opportunity to ask government representatives questions about opportunities to collaborate with the government on the research and development of chem-bio-rad-nuc detection technologies and diagnostics systems.

About the Networking Fair

Once again, this year's Event will feature the Networking Fair, an excellent venue for representatives from government, detection technology companies, defense contractors, and universities to come together and explore opportunities for partnership and collaboration and work together to advance the creation of a robust CBRN detection industry. Past attendees have found the Fair a great value-add to their conference experience.
