The slowdown in the overall economy is having an impact on the wind and other renewable energy markets. Smaller developers are having difficulties raising needed capital; and large developers, private investors and new classes of tax equity investors see opportunities to expand their portfolio of renewable assets. However, potential pitfalls exist in valuing wind power assets—given transmission and other constraints—in near term and in the future. Figuring how to value, structuring the financing in a tight credit market, and getting the deal done are becoming increasingly difficult. This technical workshop will provide you with the insights into how to value wind power assets, identify potential hurdles to the deal, negotiate the purchase and sale, and structure the deal and financing to complete the transaction.
