About The Event |
The government continues its strong commitment to
protecting the Nation against the possible use of chemical and
biological weapons. This commitment is supported by a healthy federal
budget that funds advanced research and development of next-generation
environmental systems and new classes of bio-chem detectors that can
identify and analyze an increasing range of biological and chemical
agents. The department and agencies that support and fund this critical
R&D are engaging in close collaboration and partnership with hundreds
of private companies and universities in developing cutting edge
biological and chemical detection technologies. Where can you learn
how to participate in the development of the next generation of
detection technologies that will provide future decision makers with
the tools they need to effectively detect and manage a bio-chem attack?
The 4th Federal Bio-Chem Detection
R&D Opportunities event is designed to provide
the most current, updated information about the role researchers
and private companies can play in addressing the Nation's
needs for new biological and chemical detection technologies.
Again this year, the event will focus on the R&D requirements
of each of the funding departments and agencies-with the
goal of helping attendees make informed decisions about
their opportunities to participate in this government-supported
R&D. Representatives from the funding departments and agencies
will provide answers to such questions as:
- What are the government's biological and chemical detection
technology R&D priorities?
- What programs are being funded?
- What are the opportunities for university and private company participation?
- What is the process for pursuing these opportunities?
- What are the arrangements for working with the government?
Each presentation will be followed by a question and answer
session, providing attendees ample opportunity to ask the government
representatives questions about the opportunities to collaborate
with the government on the research and development of bio-chem
detection technologies. |

NEW
THIS YEAR!
NETWORKING FAIR
For the first time, this year's event will
feature the Bio-Chem Detection Networking Fair
where interested representatives from government, detection
technology companies, defense contractors, and universities
can come together to explore opportunities for partnering
and collaboration. The Fair is an excellent venue for the
bio-chem detection community to come together to search
for opportunities to advance the creation of a robust bio-chem
detection industry.
The Fair will feature:
- Government "help desks" where conference attendees can ask
government representatives from bio-chem detection funding agencies
questions about current opportunities to collaborate with the
government on the development and production of bio-chem detection
technologies.
- Companies and universities from the bio-chem detection community
sharing information and showcasing their capabilities.

Pre
Conference Symposium
Biological-Chemical Detection Symposium
Emerging
and Enabling Technologies For Biological and Chemical
Detection
In its fourth year, this highly acclaimed symposium
has become an important venue to hear about exciting science as well
as cutting edge work in bio-chem detection technologies. The symposium
is designed to provide researchers and technology companies a broad
understanding of the current and future direction of biological and
chemical identification technologies. It will explore the latest
emerging and enabling technologies that are positioned to drive new
advances. The symposium will feature nationally recognized detection
and materials technology experts from government, academia, and industry
who will provide answers to such questions as:
- What are the important new emerging and enabling technologies
in development and how will they drive the future of biological and
chemical detection?
- What are the most recent advances in these emerging and enabling technologies?
- What are the opportunities and what are the challenges with these technologies?
- What are the most promising research paths to move these technologies forward?
