Founded by the Center for Economic Growth, the Watervliet Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art technology and business accelerator focused on the rapid growth of emerging homeland security and defense technology companies. In support of our mission, the Watervliet Innovation Center is within the Watervliet Arsenal campus, collocated with the US Army's Benét Labs and an Army Materiel Command (AMC) manufacturing center. The Watervliet Innovation Center provides a "demand-pull infrastructure", where client companies gain visibility into the technology needs of the industry through a national network of academic, industrial, and government stakeholders. The WIC helps companies strategically align technology development efforts with the tangible needs of their security and defense customers, enhancing opportunities for joint venturing, financing, and market acceptance.

GenArraytion

GenArraytion is a microbial genotyping and biomarker company providing products and services for high fidelity characterization of medically relevant pathogens and biothreat organisms. The basis of our capability is a proprietary bioinformatics system that identifies unique and functional microbial biomarkers which we use to populate microarrays for detection and analysis of biological samples. Our robust library of biomarkers and rapid, cost effective microbial genotyping methods provide multilevel (genus, species and strain) analysis that allows us to characterize microbial species and strains for which genomic sequence is not available or well characterized, including emerging pathogens and genetically modified organisms.
