About the Event

The opportunities for international investment and participation in the Mexican energy sector continue to grow. The Mexican government has earmarked more than US$10 billion for energy investments this year, US$2 billion more than last year, and CFE is calling for the construction of more than 24 gigawatts of new capacity in the near-to-mid term. The opportunities have never been so widespread, with investment planned in generation, LNG and pipelines, and renewables. At the same time, the fundamentals supporting international energy development activity in Mexico have never been so favorable, including a high projected demand for energy (with 5% annual growth projected for the next four years), Mexico's stable political situation, a well-defined legal environment and the country's investment-grade sovereign debt rating. Of course, only those with a complete understanding of the regulations and complexities of the Mexican energy sector will be able to take advantage of these remarkable opportunities.

As a consequence, Mexican Energy 2006 has been designed to provide large and small developers, as well as financiers, with a complete overview of the necessary information offered by leading international developers, Mexican government officials and legal experts. This is your chance to get a detailed survey of a broad range of current opportunities available to developers and investors in the Mexican energy sector, including:

  • The Mexican IPP Program
  • Mexican LNG and Pipeline Projects-More on the horizon?
  • The New Mexican Renewable Energy Initiatives
  • Cross-Border Infrastructure
  • The New Energy Interchange Program
  • Impacts of Changes to Mexican Energy Regulations
