Three Outstanding Events

Now in its eighth year, the Transmission Summit has established itself as the premier gathering place for transmission CEOs, presidents and other senior executives responsible for this critical sector of the power industry. In what has become a tradition, these strategic leaders engage in thoughtful and open discussions on the changing strategic, regulatory and investment issues facing transmission business owners, grid operators, and system users. TRANSMISSION EXECUTIVE FORUM
Maximizing the Value of Your
Transmission Business and Investments
March 13, 2006

The business and investment environment for transmission business owners and investors has been fundamentally transformed in the post-EPAct 2005 era. FERC has embarked upon a number of new initiatives aimed at mitigating what it sees as critical under-investment in and congestion of the nation’s transmission infrastructure. It has proposed new incentives-based rates. The siting and approval process is being streamlined under a reconfigured regulatory framework. Reliability mandates have been put into place. In this new environment, transmission owners are weighing options and exploring alternative strategies that will enable them to capture the true value of their transmission businesses and their investments. Acquisitions, sales, and spin-offs are among the options on the table. At the Executive Forum, leading executives and investors will explore this new environment, the impact it will have on encouraging new transmission investment, and the strategic options being considered by transmission owners and investors to maximize the value of their businesses and investments.

At Transmission 2006, the industry’s key leaders will provide a detailed examination of these business and regulatory shifts on the transmission business and how owners and operators will plan for the future of their transmission system in this changing milieu. Our panelists will provide a detailed examination of the most critical issues facing the industry.
