Health & Safety

The safety and security of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and staff is our top priority at PowerUp Data Centers – Investment. While much of our security infrastructure is working behind the scenes in conjunction with the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. We are continuously reviewing and enhancing our procedures to ensure the safest experience possible for everyone.

Security measures and operational plans are in place at our events, including:

  • Valid ID's are required for badge pick-up and ticket verification
  • Attendees must pick up their own badges; team members are not permitted to pick up badges for others
  • Uniformed and covert security guards
  • Crowd management staff, signage and barriers, as necessary

To help us all stay safe and secure during the event, here are five key things you can do:

Remove Your Badge When Exiting the Event

While badges are required within the event space, please remove your badge when leaving the event space.

Stay Aware of Your Surroundings

Always remain alert, especially in crowded areas. Trust your instincts – if something doesn’t feel right, take note of it. If you see something, say something. Please report any suspicious activity immediately to event management or onsite security personnel.

Protect Your Belongings

Keep your valuables close to you at all times. For added security, consider storing important items in your hotel room or locked storage when possible.

Limit Cash and Use Secure Payment Methods

We recommend carrying only what you need in cash. For your safety, use credit cards or ATMs when possible, to minimize the risk of theft. Keep your ID on you at all times.

Enjoy Responsibly

Be mindful of alcohol consumption, especially in unfamiliar environments. Stay aware of your limits and look out for each other. When socializing at night, find a buddy. Avoid traveling alone.

Event Access

Lanyard policy

For the safety and security of all PowerUp Data Centers – Investment participants, all sponsors and attendees are required to wear the official show lanyards provided at registration.

Identification & Access: The official lanyards are part of our event’s security system. They allow event staff and security personnel to easily identify who is authorized to be in specific areas.
No Substitutions: Personal or branded lanyards may not be used in place of the official show lanyards. Wearing unofficial lanyards can delay access at checkpoints and may result in being stopped by security.
Enforcement: Security staff will be instructed to enforce this policy. Anyone not wearing the official show lanyard will be asked to return to registration to obtain and wear one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our emergency plans are in place to keep everyone safe. If the fire alarm is triggered or an evacuation is required, you will hear clear announcements and event staff will guide you to the nearest safe exit. Evacuation routes are also displayed on signs throughout the venue.  

Please follow the evacuation safety steps below:  

1. Be calm, courteous, and quiet.  
2. Immediately evacuate the meeting area follow the evacuation plan posted on the wall.  
3. Only use the stairs and exit doors. Do not use elevators or escalators.   

If you need medical assistance during the event, please notify the nearest PowerUp Data Centers – Investment staff member, who will direct you to the medical team and help you get assistance quickly.

We’ll provide safety information via signage throughout the venue, and event communications.  

In the event of an emergency, our team is trained and ready to respond quickly. You will be notified via announcements or mobile app notifications with clear instructions. Evacuation routes are clearly marked, and event staff will be on hand to assist you. 

If you've lost an item, please visit the event registration desk located in the International Ballroom Foyer. For any assistance during the event, you can also reach out to the nearest staff member or security personnel. 

If you notice anything unusual or suspicious, please report it immediately to an event or hotel staff member. We encourage everyone to stay vigilant and trust their instincts. Remember: If you see something, say something.
