Jacobs has been involved with wind farm projects since the mid-1970s, planning and permitting 8GW of wind power projects in the past 20 years. We provide cohesive end-to-end engineering solutions that cover every phase of wind farm development undertaking work for developers, constructors, operators and investors. We combine leading project delivery, technical, environmental and strategic consulting skills with an excellence in technology and facility management and a commitment to deliver sustainable solutions. Jacobs’ permitting teams have completed more than 1,000 environmental assessment and permit application documents worldwide. We have successfully executed projects for more than 2,000 megawatts of renewable energy generation; and more than 1,000 miles of new electrical transmission lines. Jacobs has extensive NEPA experience, including with BOEM and was the lead author on the South Fork Offshore Wind Project Construction and Operations Plan. Jacobs was also the Department of Energy’s third party NEPA contractor for LEEDCo’s Project Icebreaker offshore wind farm in Lake Erie.
