SSE Renewables is leading the transition to a net zero future in the UK, Ireland and globally through the world-class development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets. Part of SSE plc, the UK-listed integrated energy group, SSE Renewables is the UK and Ireland’s clean energy champion and is investing £12.5bn over the next five years, or £7m a day, to deliver a Net Zero Acceleration Programme to address climate change head on. SSE Renewables is leading the construction of more offshore wind energy than any other company in the world right now, including the 3.6GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea which will be the world’s largest when complete in 2026. In the last 12 months SSE has started to export SSE Renewables’ capabilities in offshore wind development, construction and operation to international markets. The company is exploring how it can develop new offshore wind farms in countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United States to help the globe go net zero.
