SWCA is a nationwide environmental consulting firm, with over 1,200 professionals who understand the unique challenges of developing offshore wind energy. Whether working directly with the BOEM, offshore wind developers or pertinent state and local agencies, SWCA understands offshore wind project needs – from effective stakeholder engagement, site assessment, and geotechnical and geophysical survey plan preparation and permitting and survey implementation to development of a construction and operation plan and associated technical analyses that meet BOEM and cooperating agency requirements.
SWCA has 10 offices in California, Hawaii, and Oregon, that provide expertise for renewable energy projects. Our largest business sector is renewable energy, and we have supported 400+ renewable energy projects across the Pacific Coast and Islands. SWCA has been an active member of the California Offshore Wind Coalition and currently co-chairs the ACP/OWC permitting workgroup. In addition, SWCA is well-versed in the preparation of legally defensible NEPA and CEQA documents.
